Sarah House Counsellor

Supervisor

Sarah House

I believe that individuals deserve acceptance and understanding and are capable of change. People create their own meaning, are the experts on themselves and have the potential to become self empowered through the counselling process.

I have a BSc(Hons) in Psychology and a PostGraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling. This approach to counselling focuses on the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship.

I have over 19 years experience of working as an integrative counsellor and have worked in many different and varied sectors, ranging from voluntary to private. This has enabled me to work with both long and short term counselling contracts dealing with a whole range of emotional and personal issues.

I am also a qualified supervisor with several years experience in both 1:1 and group settings, please click here to find out more.

My experience over the years has included ongoing professional training and I continue to develop this within my counselling.

I have additional training in Alcohol & Drug Addiction, Conducting Critical Incident Debriefings, Post Traumatic Stress/Disorder, Group Work and Motivational Interviewing.

I have Professional Indemnity Insurance and I work within the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) ethical framework and uphold the BACP’S complaints procedure. I have been a Registered Associate member since 1998 and an Accredited BACP counsellor since 2007. Information can be obtained from:
